“You’re sad, but too proud to show it. Your laugh doesn’t reach your eyes, ever. You sometimes seem scared but then at other times you’re strong enough to fight through it. It’s impressive and amazing watching you.”Nicole had everything she ever wanted, a loving husband and son and a beautiful home filled with love and happiness. Then, one day a senseless tragedy steals everything from her and she is left struggling to pick up the pieces. Just over a year after losing everything, she knows she has to at least try to live again. Which is how she ends up in a bar walking up to a handsome stranger on a dare made by her best friend. All she was hoping to get was a drink out of the man, she never expected he’d turn out to be Zack Walters, one of the most popular rock stars around and she never expected that he would ignite all sorts of long dormant feelings in her. As she gets swept up in the whirlwind that accompanies Zack, will Nicole be able to set aside her fears and start a life with Zack or will the pain and loss she’s been carrying along so long keep her stuck in the past?
“You make me sound like a puzzle.”
He chuckles softly. Even in the stress of the moment and the little information I just shared, I like it. “Maybe you are, a little bit.”
I cock my head to the right, thankful that he’s taken my mind off what we were talking about before. I wonder if it was his plan.
“What happens once you solve the puzzle?”
A devilish grin appears, playfulness in his eyes. “Frame it, hang it on my wall, and keep it forever?”
I thought this was a really sweet and emotional story of finding love after loss. I had actually read Just One Regret and Just One Moment prior to this book, so I was already familiar with Nicole’s story and how things turned out for her, but it was really great to go back to where it all started to see how her and Zack met and their adorable love story. Nicole had been through a lot and I thought she was very brave to finally put herself out there again and risk her heart, the fact that the man she was falling for was a famous rock star only complicated things. But I thought that her reactions and her hesitations were totally normal for someone in her situation. Zack was an amazing hero. He was so patient with her and I loved how sweet he was with her. His devotion and commitment to her was just wonderful. Of course there’s some drama and angst mixed in, but mainly this was just a really heartwarming love story and I’m glad I was able to go back and read it!
“By far, meeting you is one of the best things that has happened to me in a long time.”

Just One Song eBook Stacey Lynn Reviews
Nicole has undergone tremendous loss and now over a year later is trying to start living again. Her friend Mia is absolutely wonderful and she just wants her friend back. On a dare from Mia, Nicole approaches two handsome strangers in a bar with hopes of getting them to buy her a drink and get some new shoes too. When Zack realizes the beautiful woman has no idea who he is, there is interest. He along with his buddy find it comical that she truly has no idea he is the hottest rockstar right now.
What happens next is a little of the insta love/lust on Zack's part and a little bit of "Can this be real?" on Nicole's part. Essentially she ends up going on the last leg of their tour. She cancels upcoming shoots for her photography business, right before the holidays, and goes off with a guy she just met to get to know him better and to photograph the band.
A little far fetched, yes, but reading for me is sometimes a break from reality and no harm in enjoying something that is truly fantasy. I did like that the two just didn't fall into bed with each other, especially since Nicole is just now trying to move on. I would have liked a little more heat when they do come together, but that was okay too.
They do hit a few snags along the way and honestly I was just hopping in my seat when Mia comes to bring Nicole something she left on tour. Loved that part. Then there is the on again off again fling of Zack's that tries to stir up trouble. Rachel just was annoying and I hate the part she plays in the ending. This is one of the reasons I deducted half a point from my review. For me it all comes down to broken promises. It's not that I didn't like the twist which came at the last 90%, I actually liked it, but it was the broken promise which really bothered me and I can't believe Nicole just brushes it aside so easily. I at least wish it would have been addressed or I wish the promise part would have just been left out. Couple that with too many typos and grammatical errors and it brought me to a 4 star read.
I was seriously blown away by this book. Nicole and Zack are just gorgeous - you can't help but love them. Nicole has pain in her past and Zack has to deal with never knowing whether a woman goes after him for his rock god image or for him. Both their world's are turned upside down when they meet and both have their boundaries pushed. Mia and the rest of the band are the perfect supporting characters for Nicole and Zack. Definitely one of the best rock star novels I've read. Love that the Epilogue wraps thing up so there are no cliff hangers. Would love to read about Mia in her own book, and definitely want to read more of Stacey's work.
